Air Transport 

Even though Jaipur International Airport, located more than 100 kilometres away from the city, presently serves as the primary airways link between Sawai Madhopur and the rest of the world, the city also has its own air strip which is expected to be fully operational in the coming days. This air strip is presently used only to accommodate private jets and airlines of notable dignitaries.

The Delhi – Mumbai Trunk route, on which the city is located, serves as the best railway route from some of the major Indian cities to reach Sawai Madhopur. There are a number of long distance trains which have their halts at the Sawai Madhopur Railway station, some of the most important amng them being Jodhpur Puri Express, Jaipur Coimbatore Express, Hazrat Nizamuddin Indore Express, Marusagar Express and Dayodaya Express.

Road Transport 

The drastic improvement in the road connectivity of Sawai Madhopur to some of the important metro cities has been one of the primary reasons responsible for the gradual growth of the tourism sector in the city in the recent times. Sawai Madhopur is now efficiently connected to the nearby cities via Tonk – Sawai Madhopur Highway (NH 116), and the Kota Lalsot Highway. 

Travelling within the city 

Tourists in Sawai Madhopur have multiple options when it comes to wandering around the city, hopping from one spot to another. While buses (both privately owned and government run), tempos and auto rickshaws are the primary mode of transport within the city, jeeps and gypsies are available en route to landmark places like the Ranthambore National Park and the Ranthambore Fort.
