History of Chauth Mata Mandir

According to the legend, it is believed that the temple was established by Maharaja Bhim Singh, who was an extreme believer in the fact that he could overcome evil by worshiping the Goddess daily. He brought the idol of the deity from Pachala, a small town located about 15 kilometers from Bharwada and placed it on the top of the hill. After which, construction of the temple of Chauth Mata began. The temple is also home to two other beautiful idols of Lord Bhairav and Lord Ganesha in the main area.

Even though the temple is perched on a hill top and one has to climb a number of steep stairs to reach the temple, it is visited by both tourists and devotees regularly. All of them descend to this temple to seek blessings from Chauth Mata, who is believed to be the primary deity of the ruler of this area.

Constructed mainly in Rajputana style of architecture with a widespread use of white marble and tiles, Chauth Mata Mandir is one of the most beautiful temples in this region. One can see the true culture and heritage of Rajasthan coming alive in this mela.
